Automated Captioning Service Overview
AST's CaptionSync automated captioning service offers a wide variety of output formats for captioning Web media, captioning Broadcast media, DVDs, or adding search and navigation features to web media. You can choose as many output formats as you need - there is no increase in cost or turnaround time for selecting multiple output formats.

Web Caption Output
Allows formatting fonts, colors, number of lines, line lengths, etc, outside the line-21 constraints. Users typically choose this if they are focussed on streaming media only. Choices include:

Broadcast Caption and DVD Subtitle Output
Output is constrained to EIA-608 formats on line lengths, number of lines and such. Users typically choose this for DVDs, encoding broadcast line-21, or if they have both web and broadcast media. Broadcast formats include:
- Digital NLE Caption post-processing (black MOV files which can be pulled into Final Cut Pro, Avid, or Premiere and yield captions when you print-to-tape)

Streaming Media Search Output
Output timing data is saved in a format which enables search of on-demand video or audio. Search and Navigation formats include:
