Starting with version 7.1, Camtasia allows you to quickly and easily export an audio track from your presentation, and import a caption file. These two features make it very simple to use CaptionSync to quickly caption your Camtasia presentations.

How it works

Captioning Camtasia presentations with CaptionSync is a breeze – simply take the caption file generated by CaptionSync and import it into your Camtasia presentation, then Produce your presentation as you normally would. If you are publishing to Camtasia’s preferred format (Flash) or to YouTube, the closed captions will remain intact in your final presentation. If you publish to alternate web formats, such as Windows Media, QuickTime, or iPhone, Camtasia will embed the captions right in the exported video (open captions).

Enabling Search

Enabling viewers to find the exact point of interest in your video makes your content much more valuable and usable for your audience. Camtasia offers a video search feature for videos which have captions. This feature allows viewers to type in text queries which Camtasia locates in the caption text and allows the viewer to navigate directly to the location of interest. But this useful feature is only available if you caption your Camtasia presentation.
