Today, the acquisition of Automatic Sync Technologies by Verbit was announced, following a successful collaboration and partnership between the two companies. This milestone will enable us to advance our mission to ensure digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities and inclusion for all.
The combined company will have a global footprint and employ over 800 employees worldwide, with offices in Denver, Pittsburgh, New York, Montreal, Tel Aviv and Kyiv.
Verbit is a privately held, venture-backed company and has a strong client base in the legal, education, corporate and media verticals, as well as top-of-the-line partners. We’ll now be able to expand our technological capabilities further to provide high-quality, cost-effective video accessibility services.
“We are excited to join the Verbit family,” said Kevin Erler, CEO, Automatic Sync Technologies. “Their vision for the present and future of video accessibility and the planned investment in us will empower us to bring the vision of why we started this company 18 years ago to life. Now we can invest more aggressively in our product and make our roadmap and vision into realities.”
AST’s current relationship with its customers will remain the same. Customers will continue enjoying the same technology, the same service level and the same staff that has been working with our customers. The only difference in the foreseeable future is that Verbit will invest further in AST to offer additional services, enabling customers to further achieve their video accessibility goals.
“Together with Automatic Sync Technologies, Verbit can create greater impact by bringing its high-quality transcription to more students, professionals and consumers,” said Tom Livne, CEO and Founder of Verbit. “I’m thrilled to have such a strongly recognized team and product join us on this journey.”
This acquisition will provide the universities and partners which work with AST with a more comprehensive offering. The two companies share the same vision of the education transcription market and the evolution from accessibility based on disability requirements to greater engagement and inclusivity for all students.
The continued trust and partnership of AST’s customers over the years will continue to be invaluable to us. We’re excited to introduce you to Verbit and look forward to working together.
