Humans of AST is a blog series where you can learn about the people behind CaptionSync and Automatic Sync Technologies (AST). We’re thankful for all the great work done by our transcribers, managers, engineers, and other team members, and wanted to share a bit about them with the world. This series is inspired by the online series called Humans of New York. You can see all posts in our Humans of AST series here.
Aylin Dunham is a part of our Customer Success Team. She began working for AST as a transcriber, eventually transitioning to work as a project manager. She is a native Arizonan, and she graduated from the University of Arizona with a History degree in 2018. She worked for the Disability Resource Center at her school for four years, learning about the importance of accessibility needs and services. Her undergraduate experience gave her a deep appreciation for information technology and gave her extensive experience in administrative and management services.
“My favorite part of living in southern Arizona is being near the Sonoran Desert. There’s a scarcity of water here, and because of this scarcity, I think that human connection is strongly valued. Coming from a family with a history of disabilities, I was inspired by the individuals in my desert community who were dedicated to connecting with others in order to expand accessibility for all. When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me hiking in one of the beautiful trails near my home, playing the piano, and spending time with family.”
